To support students during the challenging transition from school to college, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized an Induction Programme on 20 August 2024.
The occasion was graced with the presence of the Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University, Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Prof Dharam Buddhi Vice- Chancellor, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Guest CISCO Trainer Mr Kartik Bhardwaj, Mr Subhamoy Mandal, Prof Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare, Prof Anita Gehlot, Head DRI, Mr Arun Godiyal, Director CRC, Prof Sonal Sharma, Dean USCS, and Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD USCS.
The proceedings commenced with a concise inaugural ceremony, followed by the acknowledgment and honouring of the distinguished guests.
An interactive session was also conducted during the induction programme by CISCO certified trainers Mr Kartik Bhardwaj and Mr Subhamoy Mandal from the NIIT Foundation. They offered the practical insights into industry practices and technologies to boost their academic and professional skills.
The dignitaries emphasized holistic education, focusing on critical thinking, goal setting, and character building. They highlighted the importance of understanding the university's structure and preparing for life's challenges and encouraged students to embrace this new chapter with enthusiasm and determination.
During the induction programme, students were informed about various verticals of academics, including CRC, DRI, faculty roles, examination cells, discipline committees, anti-ragging committees, clubs and cells, NSS and NCC, MOOC, and Sports.
