sed one-day Herbal Garden visit to Centre for Aromatic Plants (CAP), Selaqui, Dehradun, for the students of B. Pharm 3
rd year on 21st August 2025 with the purpose of providing students practical exposure to medicinal and aromatic plants.  

 The visit was organised as part of their Pharmacognosy curriculum, aiming to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical exposure to herbal aromatic plants and their formulations. The visit aimed to help students understand plant cultivation, identification, and essential oil extraction techniques.  

 

During the visit, students explored the herbal garden and learned about the cultivation, identification, and uses of medicinal and aromatic plants such as lemongrass, citronella, tulsi, mentha, timur, rosemary etc. and interacted with experts. The exposure also sparked interest in research and entrepreneurship in the field of natural products and herbal formulations. 

 

This visit was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS. The visit was coordinated by Mrs Shalini Kumari, Mr Akash Samanta & Mrs Prinsa, Assistant Professors, Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS).
