The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), under Uttaranchal University, celebrated its Annual Cultural Festival “Holiyar 2026 – Mauliyar: Celebrating Spring, Prosperity & Tradition” on 02 March 2026 at the campus. Organized by the Cultural Club “Jhankar,” the event marked the joyous occasion of Holi and reflected the vibrant cultural ethos of Uttarakhand.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Jitendra Joshi Ji (President, Uttaranchal University), Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi (Vice Chancellor), and Mr. Abhishek Joshi (Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT Services). The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, whose constant support and encouragement ensured its grand success. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of students and faculty in promoting cultural preservation alongside professional excellence.
Inspired by Garhwali and Kumaoni traditions, the celebration commenced with a traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Kulgeet. Students presented vibrant folk performances and actively participated in the Chef Competition, Traditional Attire Competition, and Trash to Treasure competition. Festive food stalls, themed decorations, the “Mauliyar Memories” selfie booth, and a supervised eco-friendly colour celebration added enthusiasm to the occasion.
The event was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Chef Hitendra Singh Chauhan (Overall In-Charge), with faculty coordinators Mr. Vijay Kumar Pant, Chef Kamal Singh Bisht, Chef Sanjay Badoni, Ms. Neha Minocha, Mr. Mukesh Dabral, Mr. Abhishek Negi, and Mr. Nitesh Bhardwaj. Student coordinators also played a vital role in its smooth execution.
