The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organized a Poster-Making Competition on the occasion of Zero Emission Day, 21st September 2026, with the slogan “Give Our Planet One Day Off a Year.” The event aimed to inspire students for sensitizing students towards environmental sustainability, reduction of emissions, and responsible use of natural resources and to creatively depict solutions for reducing emissions and protecting the environment.
The competition was held in the UIPS Department under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, and was coordinated by Ms. Pallavi Pandey, Ms. Muskan Singh and Mr. Praveen Semwal. Students actively took part in the event by creating posters, portraying their ideas related to zero-emission practices, energy conservation, environmental protection and reducing emission.
The entries were evaluated by Prof. (Dr.) Shradha Bisht and Mrs. Jyotsana Suyal on parameters including relevance to theme, content and accuracy, creativity and originality, message and impact, and neatness and presentation. This initiative not only provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic skills and environmental awareness but also inspired them to think critically about sustainable solutions. It reflected UIPS’s commitment to fostering eco-conscious values and promoting responsibility towards a greener planet.
