The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM) at Uttaranchal University successfully hosted Deeksharambh 2026 (10–19 August 2026), a multi-day orientation program designed to prepare and inspire aspiring hospitality professionals for their academic journey.
The students were welcomed with the traditional tika, marking an auspicious start to their academic journey. On the second day, a vibrant central-level cultural program was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium, where the Hon’ble President Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, addressed and blessed the newly admitted students, inspiring them to pursue holistic growth and academic distinction.
Key Highlights and Expert Sessions:
Expert Industry Keynote: Mr. Vaibhav Dubey, Senior Vice President of Antara Dehradun, delivered an enriching session on luxury hospitality operations, senior living dynamics, and the evolving expectations of global hospitality brands.
Special Address by Ms. Drishmeet Kaur: An engaging talk by Drishmeet Kaur motivated the cohort to focus on personal grooming, emotional intelligence, resilience, and professional service etiquette.
Anti-Ragging Sensitization: In-depth awareness sessions briefed students on the university’s zero-tolerance anti-ragging framework and student support systems to foster a secure, inclusive campus environment.
Drug-Free Campus Campaign: Dedicated interactive workshops reinforced the institution’s commitment to a healthy, drug-free campus, educating youth on wellness, self-discipline, and positive lifestyle choices.
Campus Tour: On the concluding day, a guided "Show Around the University Campus" familiarized freshers with USHHM’s advanced training kitchens, mock guest suites, central library, and recreational facilities.
Deeksharambh 2026 concluded with enthusiastic senior-junior icebreakers and a formal vote of thanks, equipping the new cohort with the confidence and clarity to excel at Uttaranchal University.
