The Electoral Literacy Club of the School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Uttaranchal University, organised a Voter Awareness Rally, “जागो मतदाता जागो”, on 6 October 2026 from 2:30 PM onwards at the University Campus, starting from the SLA Block. The rally was held under the theme “मेरा वोट, मेरी आवाज़” and aimed to promote awareness about the importance of voting and the responsibilities of an informed citizen in a democracy.
Students from all the first-year programmes of the School of Liberal Arts participated in the rally with great enthusiasm. The event was led by the faculty members of the Electoral Literacy Club, Dr Geeta Pandey Upreti, Ms Isha Kansal, Dr Sushma Jaiswal, and Dr Anita Yadav, who accompanied and guided the students throughout the rally.
Moving across the University Campus, the participants shouted slogans to spread voter awareness. The slogans drew the attention of the entire university community to the value of every vote and the need for citizens to exercise their franchise responsibly and without hesitation.
The rally also raised awareness among students about their electoral responsibilities, including enrolling as voters, understanding the democratic process, and participating in elections with a sense of duty. It encouraged young citizens to recognise that their vote is their voice and a means of shaping the nation's future.
