Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organised Deeksharambh 2026 on 07 August 2026, marking the beginning of an enriching academic journey for the newly admitted students. The Orientation cum Induction Programme reflected the spirit of new beginnings while acquainting the freshers with the University’s academic ethos and vibrant campus culture.
The ceremony was graced by Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, Uttaranchal University; and Prof (Dr) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, Uttaranchal University, along with faculty members and students of UIM. The programme commenced with a floral welcome of the dignitaries by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, followed by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the University Kulgeet. Inspiring addresses were delivered by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, and Ms Ankita Joshi. The speakers encouraged students to think beyond conventional boundaries and learn through experience rather than observation alone. They warmly welcomed the freshers as integral members of the Uttaranchal University family and motivated them to make the best use of the University’s academic resources to emerge as responsible professionals and future leaders.
The programme also featured an oath-taking ceremony led by Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, reaffirming the students’ commitment to academic integrity and responsible conduct. The cultural performances added vibrancy to the celebration with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, melodious folk and contemporary songs, an electrifying dance performance, and captivating folk dances representing the rich cultural diversity of Uttaranchal University. The forenoon session of the programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof (Dr) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, Uttaranchal University, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organising committee, student volunteers, and participants for making the event a memorable success.
