The School of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Skit for newly admitted students as part of their Induction Programme (Deeksharambh). The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the serious consequences of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming campus environment.
The awareness program was coordinated by Mr. Yogesh Kumar Awasthi, with the gracious presence of Dr. V. K. Srivastava and Dr. Ajay Singh, Director, School of Applied & Life Sciences, along with faculty members of the school.
The student-led skit presented realistic situations related to ragging and highlighted its potential academic, psychological, social, and legal consequences. Through an engaging and impactful performance, students were encouraged to understand that ragging is not a form of entertainment or interaction but a serious misconduct that can adversely affect the dignity, safety, and well-being of fellow students.
The program also emphasized the importance of mutual respect, empathy, responsible behavior, and positive peer interaction. The program concluded with a message encouraging students to contribute collectively towards building a ragging-free, safe, and harmonious campus environment.
