The Departmental Internal Quality Assurance Cell (DIQAC) of the Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) organized a Faculty Orientation Program on Quality Education, AI-Integrated Teaching, and Innovative Pedagogical Practices on August 8, 2026. The program aimed to strengthen teaching excellence through innovative pedagogies, AI-enabled educational technologies, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE), in alignment with NEP 2020, NAAC, NIRF and QCI quality frameworks.

The orientation covered effective lesson planning, Bloom’s Taxonomy, differentiated instruction, active learning, competency-based education, assessment strategies, and constructive alignment of Course Outcomes (COs) with Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs). Faculty members were introduced to generative AI tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), smart classrooms, digital assessment platforms, and collaborative learning applications. Emphasis was placed on the ethical and responsible use of AI to support faculty expertise, academic integrity, and learner-centred education.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, highlighted institutional best practices, emerging challenges in pharmaceutical education, digital transformation, research excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Yogita Tyagi, HoD, UIPS, emphasized the importance of blended learning, flipped classrooms, case-based learning, problem-based learning, simulation-based teaching, and AI-powered educational resources.

Sessions also addressed NAACNIRF and QCI accreditation, NEP 2020, OBE implementation, CO–PO–PSO mapping, attainment analysis, and continuous quality improvement. Dr. Abhishek Singh discussed examination procedures and assessment practices, while Mr. Arun Thakur provided an overview of library services, digital repositories, research databases, e-resources, and plagiarism detection tools.

The program concluded with an interactive discussion encouraging faculty to adopt innovative, AI-supported, and evidence-based teaching practices. Mrs. Deepika and Mr. Manoj Dalabehera coordinated the program successfully.
