The students of B.Sc. Biotechnology, I sem., Department of Biotechnology, School of Applied and Life Sciences visited the manufacturing facility of NATCO Pharma Limited located at Plot No. A3, UPSIDC Industrial Area, Selaqui, Dehradun on 13 August 2026. The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. S.S. Negi, HR, NATCO Pharma, and received detailed technical guidance from Mr. D.V. Singh, Deputy General Manager – Quality Control.
The visit provided valuable practical exposure to the company’s formulation unit engaged in the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms, including oncology and specialty tablets, under strict cGMP and regulatory standards. The students were briefed on sampling procedures, testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products, and the critical importance of documentation and data integrity in ensuring the safety, purity and efficacy of pharmaceutical products in the Quality Control laboratory.
The students observed the application of advanced analytical instruments, particularly High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for assay, impurity profiling, content uniformity and dissolution testing, and Gas Chromatography (GC) for residual solvent and volatile impurity analysis. In the production area, the team witnessed key stages of tablet manufacturing, including dispensing, blending, granulation, compression, coating and packaging, all carried out under controlled cleanroom conditions with rigorous in-process quality checks. The industrial visit offered significant real-world insights into pharmaceutical quality systems, analytical instrumentation, and drug manufacturing processes. The students express their sincere gratitude to Mr. S.S. Negi, Mr. D.V. Singh, and the entire NATCO Pharma team for their hospitality, guidance, and valuable knowledge sharing.
