Hospital Visit to Dr. K.K.B.M Subharati Hospital

The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, successfully organized an educational Hospital Visit to Dr. K.K.B.M. Subharati Hospital on 18 August 2026 for Pharm.D students. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to hospital operations, clinical pharmacy services, patient care, and multidisciplinary healthcare practices. 


During the visit, Ms. Bhawna Sharma, Patient Relationship Manager; Ms. Neelam Tewari, PRO; and Ms. Kanti, PRO, interacted with the students and guided them through various departments of the hospital. The students visited Paediatrics, Medicine, Surgery, ICU, ICCU, In-Patient and Out-Patient Pharmacies, Pharmacovigilance Department, Pathology Laboratory, Radiology Department, Blood Bank, Operation Theatre, and Emergency Services.


The students gained practical insight into the functioning of hospital pharmacies, medication dispensing, patient care services, and the role of pharmacists in promoting safe and rational use of medicines. Special emphasis was given to pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reaction monitoring, which are important components of clinical pharmacy practice.


Students were also briefed about various hospital protocols, ward setup, infection-control practices, and patient safety measures. They learned about the roles and responsibilities of different healthcare professionals and the importance of effective interdisciplinary collaboration. The working of CT scan and X-ray facilities was also demonstrated and explained.


The students expressed their sincere gratitude to Honourable President Shri Jitendra Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, and Director, UIPS, Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, for their valuable support in organizing the visit.


At the end of the visit, Dr. Ankit Sharma, Assistant Professor, UIPS, and Coordinator of the visit, delivered the Vote of Thanks and expressed gratitude to the management and staff of Dr. K.K.B.M. Subharati Hospital for their valuable guidance, cooperation, and support.


Overall, the visit was an enriching and informative experience, enhancing the students’ clinical knowledge and understanding of hospital and clinical pharmacy practices.
