Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, is observing Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18, 2026, with various activities aimed at creating awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment.


As a precursor to the week, an Anti-Ragging Badge Distribution Ceremony was organized on August 4, 2026, in the presence of Prof. Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM and Chairperson of the Anti-Ragging Committee. The ceremony reinforced the institute’s commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus. 


A Poster-Making Competition was conducted on August 11, 2026, providing students an opportunity to creatively communicate messages of dignity, friendship, mutual respect and prevention of ragging.


As part of the Anti-Ragging Week activities, a Student Interaction and Awareness Programme was held on August 13, 2026, at the University Auditorium. The session was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Pant, Member Secretary of the Anti-Ragging Committee, who sensitized students about ragging, its consequences and their responsibility in maintaining a safe and supportive academic environment.


A major highlight was the Anti-Ragging Rally held on August 14, 2026, on the university premises. More than 200 students participated enthusiastically, spreading the message of “Say No to Ragging.” The rally was conducted in the presence of Prof. Pradeep Suri, Chairperson, UIM; Mr. Rajesh Pant, Member Secretary, UIM; and committee members Prof. Babita Rawat, UIM Dr. Sanjay Singh Chauhan, Asst. Prof, UIM, Mr. Rohit Dhyani, Asst. Prof., UIMMr. Hardev Singh, Asst. Prof, UIM and Ms. Rimpi Upadhyay, Asst. Prof., UIM.


Through these initiatives, UIM, Uttaranchal University, reaffirmed its commitment to zero tolerance towards ragging and to fostering a culture of dignity, empathy and mutual respect. The activities encouraged students to collectively contribute towards maintaining a safe, inclusive and ragging-free university campus.
