The School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organized an Expert Talk as part of Diksharambh 2026 for students of the Department of Food Technology on the theme “Food Technology: Means to Serve Society, Not Just a Career Choice.”
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. This was followed by the felicitation of the expert, Mr. Mohneesh Verma, Manager – New Product Development, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd., with a bouquet presented by Prof. Ajay Singh, Director, SALS.
Mr. Verma shared valuable insights from his extensive industry experience and emphasized that Food Technology offers opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society through safe, nutritious, and innovative food solutions. He particularly guided students regarding industrial internships and project opportunities, encouraging them to undertake projects with practical and industry relevance.
He also counselled students on career and job prospects in Food Technology, highlighting the importance of technical knowledge, practical exposure, communication skills, and awareness of industry requirements.
The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to discuss their queries related to internships, projects, career opportunities, and employability in the food industry. The session was highly informative and helped students gain a better understanding of the transition from academics to professional life.
The programme concluded with a presentation of a memento to Mr. Mohneesh Verma as a token of gratitude, followed by a group photograph. The session proved to be an enriching and career-oriented experience for the students.
