As part of the ongoing Freshers' Programme 2026, the School of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, organized an engaging and interactive session to warmly welcome its newly admitted students. The programme aimed to help freshers build new friendships, strengthen interpersonal connections, and experience the vibrant campus culture through a series of fun-filled and educational activities.
A special screening of Avatar: The Last Airbender was arranged to entertain and inspire students. The movie highlighted the values of courage, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration, encouraging students to embrace these qualities in their academic and personal journeys.
To spark scientific curiosity, a specially curated biotechnology-themed scientific video showcasing recent scientific advancements was screened. Hidden questions were strategically embedded throughout the video, challenging students to observe carefully and think critically. At the end of the session, participants enthusiastically answered the questions, and the winners were recognized and appreciated for their keen observation skills, scientific aptitude, and active participation.
The programme also featured a variety of indoor games and recreational activities, including Musical Chair, Dodge Ball, Stop the Music, Cone Picking, and Chess. Students participated with great enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, excitement, healthy competition, and team spirit. These activities provided an excellent platform for freshers to interact with their peers, develop communication skills, and foster a sense of belonging within the SALS family.
The event successfully combined entertainment, learning, and student engagement, making it a memorable experience for all participants.
