Dehradun, July 24, 2026 Friday: Uttaranchal University successfully organized the Semester Commencement Meet for the Odd Semester Session 2026–27 (Faculty Induction-cum-Orientation Programme) at the Swami Vivekanand Auditorium under the aegis of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC). The programme was designed to orient faculty members with the University's academic vision, institutional policies, and best practices, ensuring their preparedness for the upcoming semester.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Faculty members from various Schools and Centres of the University participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The inaugural session was graced by Hon'ble President Shri Jitender Joshi, Hon'ble Vice President Ms. Ankita Joshi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Hon'ble Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, and Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT Services, Mr. Abhishek Joshi. Through their inspiring addresses, the dignitaries emphasized academic excellence, innovation, the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and the University's commitment to holistic education. The programme was also graced by the presence of the Directors, Principals, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and administrative officials of Uttaranchal University.
The orientation featured informative sessions on NEP 2020 implementation, career opportunities and student preparedness, research and library support services, ERP-based course file management, and the University's integrated approach to teaching, learning, and research. Experts from the Career Resource Centre, University Library, and Taylor & Francis shared valuable insights and practical guidance, enriching the faculty members' understanding of institutional resources and contemporary academic practices.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Shipra Shah, Coordinator, HRDC, who expressed sincere gratitude to the University leadership, distinguished resource persons, faculty members, and organizing team for their enthusiastic participation and support.
