Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun organizes a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Artificial Intelligence for Computer Vision and Research Methodology” from 15th July 2026 to 21st July 2026. The FDP aims to promote high-quality research, innovation, and the effective integration of AI technologies into teaching and research practices. The Faculty Development Program features distinguished resource persons, including Mr. Savood Ahmed, Expert Trainer, Data Science Dream Tech, Dehradun; Dr. Anand Kumar Gupta, Professor and Head (CSE-AI), Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (Online); Dr. Ashish Bhatt, Research Faculty, Vellore Institute of Technology (Online); Mr. Vishwas Soni, Industrial Trainer-Samatrix; Dr. Amarjeet Rawat, Associate Professor-USCS; Dr. Parminder Singh, Assistant Professor-USCS; Ms. Shivani Sisodia, Assistant Professor-USCS.
The inaugural session featured a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director-USCS who welcomed the dignitaries and emphasized that the primary outcome of the Faculty Development Program should be the development of quality research papers. She encouraged participants to actively engage in the expert sessions and hands-on activities throughout the week.
Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dharam Buddhi emphasized the role of Artificial Intelligence in advancing academic excellence and encouraged participants to actively engage in the FDP to enhance their research and innovation capabilities.
Expert Trainer Mr. Savood conducted an interactive session on Computer Vision and Image Processing, demonstrating practical techniques and AI applications. Ms. Shivani Sisodia delivered a session on Weka for Research Data Analysis, covering data preprocessing and analysis using Weka.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD-USCS FDP is being coordinated by Dr. Swati Singh with the support of the organizing committee Prof. Monisha Awasthi, Ms. Manisha Saini, Ms. Manisha Khanduja, Mr. Yogesh Juyal, Ms. Dimple Chaudhary, Ms. Nisha Rana, Dr. Ruchika Attri, Mr. Aagman Kaparwan, Ms. Nityadeep Sharma and Ms. Vaibhavi Kaushik.
