The Literary Club of the Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organized an insightful academic session titled “Exploring the French Language and Culture” on March 11, 2026, at the Seminar Hall, UIM. The event was designed to provide students with a comprehensive roadmap of French traditions and linguistic nuances, highlighting how cultural intelligence serves as a bridge in today’s interconnected global economy.
The program commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the university's higher management in absentia. This was followed by a formal Felicitation Ceremony of the guest speaker with a token of appreciation. The session was conducted in the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, and Prof. (Dr.) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM. Their continuous support for such initiatives ensures that students receive the diverse cultural exposure necessary for professional success.
The session featured Mr. Dharm Singh Farswan, a visionary educator, polyglot, and prolific author with over 25 years of experience in career counseling. During his lecture, Mr. Farswan emphasized that "language is the road map of a culture," explaining how it reveals where a people come from and where they are going. He shared extensive insights into the elegance of the French language, urging students to look beyond the podium and understand the deep connection between linguistic skills and personal growth.
The event concluded with an engaging dialogue that left the students motivated to pursue global communication skills. To officially close the session, Dr. Mobin Anwar, Assistant Professor, member of Literary Club, UIM, proposed a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and the organizers for such an enriching journey. The program ended with the National Anthem, reinforcing UIM’s dedication to fostering a globally aware and inclusive academic environment.
