As part of Nutrition Month, the Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, successfully organized the two-day “Nutra Fest” on September 25–26, 2026.
The fest was inaugurated by Hon’ble President Shri Jitender Joshi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Shri Dharam Buddhi, Executive Director Shri Abhishek Joshi, and Director, SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, in the presence of faculty members, staff, and students.
The fest provided students with a dynamic platform to demonstrate their creativity, technical knowledge, and innovation in food technology. Students presented a range of nutritious and innovative food products, including samosa wraps prepared with rice sheets instead of refined flour (maida), soy chilla, healthy momos, and several other health-oriented food innovations.
Through their products, students explored the integration of nutrition, taste, hygiene, presentation, sustainability, and food innovation, while explaining the ingredients, preparation techniques, nutritional benefits, and innovative aspects of their creations. The event highlighted the role of Food technology in transforming conventional foods into healthier and more nutritious alternatives and enabled students to translate their academic learning into practical and creative applications.
Nutra Fest 2026 was a celebration of learning, innovation, and the power of better food choices for a healthier future.
