Five-day workshop titled “Learning and Designing with IoT: An Applied Innovation Workshop” from 10 March 2026 to 14 March 2026
To enhance students’ practical understanding of emerging technologies, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun organized a five-day workshop titled “Learning and Designing with IoT: An Applied Innovation Workshop” from 10 March 2026 to 14 March 2026 for the BCA students. The workshop focused on providing hands-on experience in Internet of Things (IoT), sensor integration, and the design of innovative smart solutions. The expert of the workshop was Mr. Ashok Kumar, Founding Director of Ensino Research and Development Private Limited, Dehradun.
The workshop was formally inaugurated in the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, and Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS, Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, warmly welcomed all the participants and expressed her delight in organizing such an initiative that promotes practical learning and innovation among students. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi highlighted the significance of emerging technologies such as IoT and motivated the participants to explore research, innovation, and practical applications in the field.
Expert Mr. Ashok Kumar provided hands-on training on IoT concepts, Arduino programming, and sensor-based project development. During the workshop, students gained practical exposure by developing various IoT-based projects such as Smart Home Automation, Temperature and Humidity Monitoring, Smart Street Light Automation, Smart Dustbin Monitoring, and Smart Irrigation Systems. The workshop witnessed active participation of students, who enthusiastically engaged in the learning activities and project implementations.
During the concluding session, students showcased and demonstrated the IoT-based projects developed during the workshop. Upon successful completion of the program, the participants were awarded Certificates of Participation in recognition of their active involvement and learning. Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma HoD-USCS the workshop was coordinated by Ms. Divya Pandey, Ms. Manisha Saini and Ms. Manisha Khanduja with the support of Ms. Nityadeep Sharma. The event proceedings were smoothly conducted by Ms. Divya Rawat, who served as the Master of Ceremony (MoC).
