Law College Dehradun faculty of Uttaranchal University celebrated the third edition of "Project Rakshak" on 27 August 2026. Students from the Rotary Club of the college visited the ITBP headquarters at Seema Dwar and tied Rakhis to the officers and soldiers present there and wished them long life. The objective of Project Rakshak was to express respect, gratitude, and thanks to the brave ITBP soldiers who dedicate their lives to protecting the nation's borders and share a sense of brotherhood with them on the sacred occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
On this occasion, a cultural program was also organized by the college students under the guidance of Navya Raghunath, Chairperson of the Rotary Club. ITBP's Second-in-Command, Mr. S.P. Joshi, and other officers were present at the event. The children's dramatic presentation effectively portrayed the spirit of patriotism, national service, sacrifice, and respect for the security forces. The presentation emotionally connected everyone present and served as a beautiful medium to honor the dedication and sacrifice of the soldiers engaged in protecting the country.
An important aspect of the program was the interaction between Rotary members and ITBP officers and soldiers. The students had the opportunity to understand their experiences, duty, discipline, and devotion to national service. This interaction made the students realize that national security is not only the responsibility of the soldiers deployed on the borders, but that every citizen has an equally important sense of respect and responsibility for them.
University President Mr. Jitendra Joshi, Vice-Chancellor Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, and Principal Prof. Poonam Rawat appreciated the students' unique initiative and called it an exemplary step.
