The School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) organized an Inter-Department Sports Event on 13 August 2026 and 27 August 2026 for first-year students as part of the Orientation Programme. The event was organized with the objective of promoting team spirit, enthusiasm, active participation, and awareness about the importance of sports in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
A variety of indoor and outdoor sports activities were conducted during the event. Indoor games included Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, and Badminton, while outdoor activities comprised Tug of War, Sack Race, and Three-Legged Race. Students from different departments of SALS participated enthusiastically and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and team spirit.
The event was inaugurated at 2:00 PM by Dr. Ajay Singh, Dean, SALS. The activities were coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Mohd. Kamran, Sports Coordinator, SALS. Faculty members, including Dr. Maneesha Pandey and Dr. Jerin James, graced the occasion and actively encouraged the participating students.
Throughout the event, students displayed great enthusiasm and a healthy competitive spirit while supporting and motivating their fellow participants. The energetic and lively environment reflected the true essence of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, during which the winners were appreciated and felicitated by the Dean, SALS for their outstanding performances and active participation.
