Law College Dehradun successfully organized Project Sanitary Napkin Donation Drive 7.0 under the aegis of the Rotaract Club at Village Kotra Santur. The project was officially launched on 2nd March 2026, followed by the main event conducted on 9th March 2026. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene and ensure access to sanitary products for women and young girls in rural areas.
The drive focused on addressing the stigma and lack of awareness surrounding menstruation. Club members visited the village and conducted an interactive awareness session, where they discussed the importance of menstrual hygiene, proper usage and disposal of sanitary napkins, and the health risks associated with poor hygiene practices. The session encouraged open conversations, helping the participants feel comfortable discussing their concerns and doubts.
The opening speech was given by Vanshika followed by Aanchal, Kritika, Harshit and Ms. Navya the Chairperson the club. As a part of the initiative, sanitary napkins were distributed to the women and adolescent girls of the village. Informative guidance was also provided on maintaining personal hygiene during menstrual cycles. The members emphasized that menstruation is a natural biological process and should not be surrounded by shame or misinformation.
The event witnessed active participation from the villagers totaling around 45-50 women and the response was positive and encouraging. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for both the donation and the awareness session, as it helped them gain clarity and confidence regarding menstrual health.
Overall, Project Sanitary Napkin Donation Drive 7.0 was a meaningful and impactful initiative. The Rotaract Club remains committed to promoting health awareness, women empowerment, and social responsibility through such community-driven projects.
