Health and Hygiene Awareness Camp at Village Kotra Santaur, Dehradun

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, organized a Health and Hygiene Awareness Camp at Village Kotra Santaur, Dehradun, on 09th March 2026, under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, Uttaranchal University. The program was coordinated by Dr. Abhishek Singh, and Mr. Ashish Singh Chauhan, Assistant Professors, UIPS, along with the active participation of pharmacy students. 


During the camp, faculty members and students conducted informative sessions focusing on personal hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, and preventive healthcare practices. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining cleanliness, safe drinking water practices, and adopting healthy habits to prevent common infections and diseases. 


The pharmacy students also organized a health awareness rally in the village, carrying banners and spreading messages about hygiene, cleanliness, and healthy living among the residents. In addition, students carried out door-to-door awareness activities, interacting directly with villagers and educating them about hygiene practices, disease prevention, and the importance of maintaining a clean environment. 


The villagers actively participated in the program and appreciated the initiative taken by UIPS. The camp proved to be a meaningful step toward strengthening community awareness and encouraging students to contribute to social responsibility and public health promotion.
