The Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 11 September 2026 at Raja Road, Telpur, Dehradun, with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and inspiring active student participation in conservation efforts.
The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, and Prof. (Dr.) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM. Student volunteers planted a wide variety of medicinal and non-medicinal saplings, contributing to increased green cover and a healthier local ecosystem.
The drive was organized in association with Shri Vinayak Sharma Swami, President, Jai Youth Wing, Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti, whose collaboration added a strong community dimension to the initiative. Beyond the plantation activity itself, the drive served as a platform to sensitize students to pressing issues such as deforestation and climate change, encouraging them to translate environmental awareness into tangible action.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Head, Globe Club, UIM, along with faculty coordinators Dr. Mithil Kosarkar, Assistant Professor, UIM; Dr. Namita, Assistant Professor, UIM; Dr. Jyoti, Assistant Professor, UIM; Ms. Richa, Assistant Professor, UIM and Mr. Parichay Durga, Assistant Professor, UIM. Their combined efforts ensured smooth execution and strong student engagement throughout the drive.
The initiative reaffirmed UIM's commitment to fostering environmental responsibility among its students, reinforcing the institute's broader mission of nurturing socially and ecologically conscious future professionals. Through hands-on activities like this, the Globe Club continues to build a culture of sustainability and civic responsibility within the university community.
