Uttaranchal College of Nursing, Uttaranchal University, organized a Student Induction Programme from 17th to 26th August 2026 for newly admitted students to facilitate their smooth transition into university life and promote their academic, professional, social, and personal development.
The programme featured an anti-ragging awareness activity conducted by Ms. Nitika Thakur, sensitizing students about ragging, its consequences, legal provisions, and the importance of a safe and respectful campus. An introductory Nursing session by Ms. Manju familiarized students with the nursing profession, academic expectations, and professional responsibilities. The “Career Quest: Aspire and Achieve” session by the Career Resource Centre (CRC) Team provided guidance on career opportunities and professional growth.
Students were oriented to the Central Library and UUERP system, while the DRI Team conducted an interactive session on “Curiosity to Creation”, encouraging research and innovation. Ms. Jagrity Sharma provided an overview of the examination system. Dr. Midhu Kurian conducted “Mulya Pravah 2.0”, emphasizing human values and professional ethics, while Ms. Isha conducted “Cyberwise Campus”, promoting responsible digital behaviour. Mr. Mayur Semual conducted a session on substance-free living and the importance of a drug-free campus.
Indoor sports, Yoga/Zumba, and recreational activities promoted fitness, teamwork, and peer interaction. The Recreational Tour, coordinated by Ms. Isha Sharma, Mr. Tushar Noel, and Mr. Mayur Sameul, further strengthened camaraderie among students.
The programme concluded with “Navarambh – Fresher Cultural Programme”, coordinated by Ms. Manju and Mr. Mayur, followed by “UU Campus Spotlight: Every Talent Counts,” coordinated by Mr. Tushar, providing students a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity and talents.
