Law College Dehradun organized the final round of the 20th Sushila Devi Memorial Moot Court Competition on December 4, 2025. Former Registrar General of the Nainital High Court, Mr. D. P. Gairola, served as chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Prof. Dharma Buddhi was the special guest.

Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna noted that the 30-day competition featured 29 moot courts and 38 judges.

In the final round, participants argued before a simulated Supreme Court bench. The key issue was whether a state governor can indefinitely block a bill by reserving it for the President's assent. The bench also examined the legality of the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment, which would remove a Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or Central/State Minister from office if arrested for a serious crime and unable to secure bail within 30 days.

In his address, Prof. Dharma Buddhi hailed the competition—a college tradition for 20 consecutive years—as a remarkable achievement.

Mr. D. P. Gairola shared his advocacy experiences, teaching students its intricacies. He highlighted the Bar Council of India's mandate for moot court practice and urged students to prioritize personal reading, research, and drafting over reliance on AI.
