The Entrepreneurship Cell, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, proudly hosted the event “The Canvas to Company: Where Ideas Take Flight” on 18 November 2025, aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation among students. A canvas begins blank, waiting for ideas and imagination. Just as every brushstroke gives life to a painting, every idea shapes our world. Canvas to Company aimed to provide students with a platform to think beyond classrooms, dream big, and turn those dreams into ventures for good. The event was graced by dignitaries: Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM; Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM; and the team members from the Entrepreneurship Cell—Dr. Nazia Hasan (Head, Entrepreneurship Cell), Dr. Anjali Dimri, Ms. Deepika Chahal, Dr. Amandeep Gill, and Ms. Shristi Chamoli. Their encouragement and motivation inspired participants to think beyond boundaries. We were privileged to have esteemed guest judges, Prof. (Dr.) Babita Rawat, Dr. Archana Saxena, and Dr. Farman Ali, whose insightful evaluations and innovative suggestions greatly enriched the presentations.
The program witnessed 28 enthusiastic teams present startup ideas marked by creativity, practicality, and vision. Concepts like Indian Gaming Boom, Organic Fruit Energy Drink, Empower Rural People, Technological Change, Carbon Recycle, and Recyclable Products reflected the young thinkers’ passion to drive positive change in society and industry. With the conclusion of Canvas to Company came one realization—that this was not merely a competition, but the beginning of a journey where students think bigger, innovate smarter, and develop enterprises capable of changing the future. The event concluded with the words of Walmart’s founder, Sam Walton: “High expectations are the key to everything. If you believe in something, push it to its limits, because the only businesses that change the world are the ones that dared to.”
