Pre-Wedding Counselling Session Held Under “Ganga Dhara: Vicharon ka Aviral

Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan, Dehradun organized a special session under its intellectual series “Ganga Dhara: Vicharon ka Aviral Pravah 2.0” titled “Pre-Wedding Counselling: Dialogue and Understanding” on 15 November 2025 at Sanskriti Bhawan, near Vidhan Sabha, Dehradun. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and a tribute to Smt. Gaura Devi, setting a serene and reflective tone for the occasion. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Haridwar MP, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the rising relevance of pre-marital counselling in today’s changing social environment. The event was graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Surekha Dangwal (Vice-Chancellor, Doon University), Prof. Diwan Singh Rawat (Vice-Chancellor, Kumaun University), Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University), and Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) U.C. Dhyani. The proceedings were conducted smoothly under the coordination of Prof. H.C. Purohit, Dean, School of Management, Doon University, while Smt. Madhu Bhatt, Vice President, Sanskrit Parishad Uttarakhand, provided vital support in ensuring cleanliness and overall arrangements. Students of the School of Liberal Arts and Law College, Uttaranchal University participated actively and responded with great enthusiasm. A panel discussion followed, featuring experts such as Prof. Rajesh Bhatt, Dr. Ashutosh Srivastava, Dr. Vikram Rawat, Dr. Malini Srivastava, Advocate Ravi Negi, Ms. Ramindri Madwal, and Ms. Aman Kapoor, who addressed audience queries and motivated the youth to embrace pre-marital counselling for healthier relationships and stronger families. In the concluding session, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, Hon’ble Chancellor of Swami Ram Himalayan University, shared insightful reflections and life lessons with the young participants. The event was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Shikha Negi, whose dedicated efforts ensured the successful and seamless conduct of the session.
