In alignment with the Department of Civil Engineering’s commitment to imparting practical knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and industry, the Department organized a One-Week Industry-Oriented Certification Program titled “Building Construction Estimation & BBS Mastery” from 10th to 15th November 2025. The program was conducted for B.Tech. third- and fourth-year students and MTech. (Construction Technology & Management) students.
The event was smoothly coordinated by faculty members Mr. Vinod Balmiki and Mr. Loknath Kumar. It was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, who highlighted the importance of industry-oriented training in enhancing employability. Mr. Gaurav Thakur, Head of the Department, outlined the program’s objectives and expected outcomes.
Throughout the week, Mr. Gaurav Thakur conducted technical sessions covering construction cost estimation, structural drawings, bar bending schedules, reinforcement detailing, and hands-on exercises. Real project case studies were discussed to connect theory with practice.
Students actively participated in discussions and practical sessions, gaining confidence in key construction management and detailing concepts. The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where Prof. (Dr.) Chaudhary appreciated the Department’s efforts in fostering industry readiness. The event received highly positive feedback from participants.
