Five-Day Workshop on “Lead Contamination in Soil and Water” Concluded Successfully at School of Agriculture

The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, organized a five-day workshop on “Lead Contamination in Soil and Water: Environmental Risks and Crop Safety” from 4th to 10th November 2025. The workshop aimed to create awareness about lead contamination and provide students with practical experience in soil and water testing techniques. 

 

During the workshop, participants were trained in collecting soil and water samples from diverse sites and analysing the presence of lead in those samples using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Students received hands-on experience with the instrument, learning each step of the analytical process. 

All participants expressed appreciation for the efforts of Dr. Atin Kumar, Dr. Neha Saini, Ms. Mansi Nautiyal, Ms. Diksha Nautiyal, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar for providing valuable practical exposure through this well-organized and informative workshop. 

 

The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, where Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Director, SOA, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Prasad, Head of Department, SOA, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the workshop and appreciated their active involvement and interest. The session was attended by all participants, including the faculty members of the School of Agriculture.
