The lecture was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students of Psychology. Dr. Pajarito delivered an intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging session that explored the intricate interplay between mind, body, and emotions. Drawing upon contemporary findings from psychology and neuroscience, she discussed the neurophysiological basis of emotions, particularly focusing on neurotransmitters such as dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and cortisol and their roles in romantic relationships, attachment, and emotional bonding.
She elaborated on how imbalances in these neurochemicals can contribute to emotional turmoil and psychological distress and how the process of healing involves restoring emotional balance through mindful awareness, self-compassion, and healthy coping strategies. Backed by scientific data and research evidence, Dr. Pajarito highlighted the interconnection between emotional pain, brain activity, and psychological well-being. The session emphasized that healing is not merely about recovery but represents a transformative process of growth and resilience.
