The School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated Forensic Science Day – “GAWAH” with enthusiasm, innovation, and academic fervor.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble President Shri Jitender Joshi, Ms. Ankita Joshi (Vice President), Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Joshi (Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT Services), and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Director, SALS). The session began with Guest Welcome and Lamp Lighting, followed by inspiring words from Prof. Dharam Buddhi (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro Vice Chancellor), and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh. A soulful Ganesh Vandana marked the auspicious start of the day.
The celebration featured a vibrant blend of scientific knowledge, creativity, and performance. Fatal Walk, a forensic-themed ramp show, showcased unique concepts through fashion. Courtroom Chronicles, a skit guided by Mr. Devesh Tiwari, highlighted courtroom dynamics and the pursuit of justice. Ms. Muskan Gupta presented Raktcharit, narrating forensic tales of blood with artistic expression. Mind & Crime, coordinated by Ms. Monika Bharti and Ms. Areeba Ansari, engaged participants through an inter-college poster/3D model showcase and an exciting escape room. Adding to the thrill, Scene Decode, led by Mr. Himanshu Saurabh, simulated a crime mystery, testing participants’ critical and analytical skills.
The programme concluded with the Valedictory Session, Prize Distribution, and Vote of Thanks. Eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Rajesh Singh (Director, DRI), Dr. V. K. Srivastava (HOD, SALS), Dr. Nishesh Sharma, Dr. Shivam Pandey, along with faculty and students, added to the vibrancy of the event.
Skillfully coordinated by Ms. Muskan Gupta (Assistant Professor, Forensic Science), the event left an enduring impression by blending scientific inquiry with art and innovation, making GAWAH a truly memorable occasion.
