A special lecture on the topic “Know Your Bookshelves” was organised by the School of Liberal Arts on 26 August 2025. The session was delivered by Dr Ramveer Tanwar, the University Librarian, who shared valuable insights about the functioning and resources of the Central Library.

Dr Tanwar began the session by introducing the structure of the Central Library, highlighting various sections such as reference, circulation, digital resources, and reading areas. He explained the systematic arrangement of books, journals, periodicals, and e-resources, which help students and faculty to access information efficiently. He also guided the participants on how to use different library tools, such as the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), e-databases, and search systems that make information retrieval easier. Practical tips on borrowing procedures, referencing styles, and the role of digital libraries in modern education were also discussed.

The session was highly informative and helped the students to understand how to make the best use of the library’s vast resources for their academic growth. The lecture encouraged learners to cultivate the habit of reading and to view the library as a hub of knowledge. The session enhanced awareness about library facilities and provided clarity on how students can effectively utilise the available tools and resources for research, learning, and overall development. The session was coordinated by Dr Anita Yadav, Assistant Professor, SLA.
