Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised a highly engaging Corporate Connect seminar on 19 August 2025, aimed at helping students build strong relationships and enhance networking opportunities within the business world.
The inaugural session commenced with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Mr Abhay Kapoor, Group CHRO, Uniparts India Ltd., by Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University. Prof. (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, felicitated Shri Jitender Joshi.
In his address, Prof Suri emphasised the dynamic challenges faced by both academia and industry in today’s rapidly changing environment. He highlighted that while academics provide theoretical knowledge, industry offers the practical exposure necessary for students to become industry-ready professionals. Quoting Henry Ford, he stressed the importance of collaboration, stating: “Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” He assured that Uttaranchal University will continue striving to build stronger collaborations to enhance students’ skills.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr Abhay Kapoor underscored the importance of adapting to fast-evolving technology and markets. He advised students not to focus solely on competition, but rather on creating differentiation in the market. He further shared valuable tips for excelling in life, discussed the formula for career growth, and elaborated on the do’s and don’ts of campus life. Additionally, he emphasised the significance of personal values that not only support individual growth but also contribute positively to organisations and communities.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, who reiterated that while skills are important, self-development remains the key to success.
