On the occasion of Global Medical Laboratory Week, Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences organized a Health Awareness Campaign on 26 April 2025. The event targeted the entire university community, with a focus on hostellers, teaching, and non-teaching staff. The campaign was inaugurated by Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, along with Dr Kartikey, Director, UCHS, and Principal, UCHS.
The campaign featured student-led activities such as health awareness charts, a selfie booth, and smart health tips. Students from BMLT II, IV and VI semesters conducted essential screenings including Random Blood Glucose, ABO Blood Grouping, Blood Pressure, and Pulse Rate assessments.
A total of 53 participants availed of the services, provided at a subsidized fee of Rs. 50, significantly lower than the usual Rs. 200. The Vice- President lauded the students’ efforts and emphasized the need for regular health checks. The campaign effectively raised awareness about lifestyle disease prevention, such as diabetes and hypertension, and encouraged a culture of routine health monitoring. Overall, the event fostered education, community involvement, and health consciousness across the university.
