On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, the School of Applied and Life Sciences organized a National Workshop on “Development of Significant Intellectual Property and Innovations” on 26 April 2025. The workshop aimed to equip participants with practical skills related to intellectual property (IP), including patent drafting and filing.
The event was inaugurated by Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Prof Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ajay Singh, Director, SALS and Convenor, Prof G K Dhingra, Dean, SDS University, Dr Manmohan Rawat, Mr Himanshu Goel, UCOST Dehradun, Mr Ashish Sharma, IP Nation, Delhi, and Dr Anil Singh, Industrial Expert.
Prof Ajay Singh welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of IP and innovation in driving scientific and societal progress. Prof. Dharam Buddhi highlighted the role of such workshops in building skills related to IP and research.
The workshop featured technical sessions covering patents, copyrights, trademarks, and related areas. Key speakers elaborated on career opportunities in IP, patent filing processes, and international treaties such as the PCT and WIPO.
Ms Ankita Joshi appreciated the initiative and motivated participants to explore innovations in science and technology. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 attendees.
The event was coordinated by Dr Nishesh Sharma, with core organizing members including Dr Sadhna Awasthi, Dr Pooja Yadav, Mr Rahul Gaur, Ms Shivangi, Ms Ruby Pokhriyal, Dr V K Srivastava, Dr Shivam Pandey, and Dr Indra Rautela.
