The School of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, organized a comprehensive Freshers' Orientation Programme from 5th August to 14th August 2026 to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and help them embark on their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
The programme commenced with the Centre-Level Induction Programme held in the University Auditorium. The event was graced by Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University; Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor; and Dr. Kartikey Gaur, Dean of Student Welfare (DSW). The dignitaries addressed the freshers, introducing them to the University's vision, values, academic culture, and the numerous opportunities available for their personal and professional growth.
The students were also inspired by Prof. Ajay Singh, Director, School of Applied & Life Sciences, who encouraged them to pursue academic excellence with dedication, discipline, and integrity. He emphasized the importance of active participation in academics, research, innovation, cultural events, sports, and co-curricular activities to ensure holistic development throughout their university life.
Adding an industry perspective to the programme, Dr. Soval Pal, Director, Rhydburg Pharma, delivered an insightful session on the significance of industrial training, internships, and research projects in building successful careers in the life sciences. He also announced project fellowship opportunities for deserving students, motivating them to engage in research-oriented learning.
The orientation programme also featured an engaging cultural session where Shri Kant Sharma and Mrs. Mahima captivated the audience with patriotic and humorous poetry, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for the students.
The programme concluded on a positive and inspiring note, leaving the freshers motivated to begin their academic journey with enthusiasm and purpose.
