Law College Dehradun organized the third edition of Youth Parliament, 'Shabdarth 3.O', on 26 April 2025 under the aegis of Youth Parliament Society. Raipur MLA Shri Umesh Sharma (Kau) was the chief guest, while the President of the University, Shri Jitendra Joshi, was the guest of honour. More than 200 young participants from across the state took part in the event.
Dean Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, in his address, stated that 5 committees were formed in this Youth Parliament organized at the state level. The strategic rivalry of America, China and India was discussed in the first United Nations General Assembly. The agenda for the meeting of All India Political Parties was the caste-based census and reservation. The main topics in the Uttarakhand Assembly were the increasing religious and administrative tensions in the state and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Debating the current conduct of the America and China, the participants said that their rivalry is taking the world towards global anarchy. There was a heated debate on provisions such as live-in relationships under the UCC, with the opposition calling it contrary to the culture of the hills.
Impressed by the presentations of the Youth Parliamentarians and MLAs, the Raipur MLA Shri Umesh Sharma (Kau) remarked that where the youth gather, the future begins. He emphasized that the Youth Parliament empowers young leaders to move forward, cooperate and lead the change for a brighter future. In his address, University President Shri Jitendra Joshi said that the foundation of healthy politics is laid in the students participating in the Youth Parliament.
The jury honoured Mayank Kumar, Jahan Mukherjee, Mandeep Yadav, Sonakshi Sharma and Yashasvi Gupta as the best delegates and Anshika, Aryan Kansal, Abhay Haran, Gurleen and Ashi Thapliyal with High Commendation Award while Harabhinandan, Daksh Sharma, Ojaswani and Gurmjeet Kaur with Special Mention Award. Sapience School of Herbertpur Dehradun was awarded the Best Delegation Award.
