The Women Cell of the School of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated International Women’s Day on 28th March 2025 from 2:30 pm onwards in the SALS seminar hall. The purpose of this event was to encourage and appreciate the female faculty members of SALS. Every year, the Women Cell organizes events on International Women’s Day, following international themes and conducting various competitions, dance dramas, skits, and more. However, this year, the celebration was held in a unique way as per the recommendation of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Director of SALS. He emphasized that women play a crucial role in the success of any organization by contributing unique perspectives, leadership styles, and diverse skill sets that enhance collaboration, innovation, and overall organizational performance.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh appreciated the efforts of the female faculty, recognizing their unique blend of experiences and viewpoints, which foster creativity and drive positive change within teams. Therefore, the Women Cell decided to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of female faculty members in SALS.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh felicitated the female faculty with appreciation certificates and highlighted their achievements to support and motivate them. This event set a positive example for female faculty, research scholars, and students within the organization, inspiring them to strive for excellence. The event was successfully conducted by Dr. Sadhna Awasthi, Coordinator of the Women Cell, and witnessed active participation from volunteers and faculty members of SALS, including Dr. Ritu Painuli, Dr. Pooja Yadav, Dr. Nidhi Mishra, Dr. Shefali, Dr. Monika Singh, Dr. Himani Badoni, Dr. Indra Rautela, Dr. Sonika Kalia, Dr. Shalu Chaudhary, Dr. Chandrakanta, Dr. Jyoti, Dr. Priya Chaudhary, and others.
