Law College Dehradun organized a workshop on the topic “Financial Education, A Life Skill under NEP 2020” on 28 March 2025, featuring Mr. Suryakant Sharma, Senior Consultant, AMFI, Ex-DGM SEBI, as the distinguished speaker, accompanied by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal, Data Scientist, Mentor of Change, NITI Aayog, Government of India.
The session commenced with the welcome address by Ms. Ravneet Kaur on behalf of Law College Dehradun. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean-Law College Dehradun, then introduced the esteemed speakers, highlighting their expertise in financial management, economic strategies, and regulatory affairs. In the technical session, Mr. Suryakant Sharma delivered an insightful discussion on financial education, simplifying complex financial concepts with practical, real-life examples for better comprehension. He emphasized the importance of banking techniques, savings, investments, financial planning, and various beneficiary schemes provided by the Government of India. He elaborated on digital banking trends, the significance of early investments, and the role of financial independence in achieving long-term economic stability. The session also covered government-sponsored financial schemes aimed at promoting financial inclusion. The discussion encouraged students to be financially aware and make informed decisions regarding money management and investment planning.
