The Uttaranchal Institute of Technology at Uttaranchal University organized an Inauguration of the National Energy Literacy Forum under the aegis of Uttaranchal University under the guidance of IQAC- UU on 22 November 2024. The event started with the lamp lightening and welcome of the dignitaries.
The objective of the forum is to enhance the energy literacy among students, faculty, and professionals by improving understanding of energy concepts and technologies and fostering collaboration between academia and industry to address energy challenges through joint research.
The forum started with the overview of the forum by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director-UIT followed by the word of wisdom shared by honourable Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor- Uttaranchal University. He discussed how Uttaranchal University has been working on seven SDG goals and focussed on introducing these concepts to the nearby community.
The guest speaker Mr Alok Kumar Mishra, Business Lead, APAC DNV Energy System, shared about the power grid, energy transition, and new methods to develop power transmission.
Dr Pradeep Chandra Pant, Administrative, Former Advisor/ Scientist G Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, who was also the guest speaker of the evening also shared his valuable insights on the theme, he said since 1950 we started thinking about independent energy, subsequently he also discussed on “Kyoto Protocol and Copenhagen plans for carbon- neutral by 2025.
The event coordinators Mr. Saurabh Aggarwal, Assistant Professors from the Mechanical Engineering Department. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD- Mechanical Engineering, extending gratitude to all participants and contributors.
