Law College Dehradun organized a Workshop on “Mastering Minds Through IKS” in collaboration with ‘Institute for Science and Spirituality Trust’ (ISS) New Delhi on 4 September 2024 under the aegis of its Women Cell and Student Counselling Cell. The event commenced with the felicitation of the guests, followed by the lighting of lamp. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor extended a warm welcome and discussed the various dimensions of the Indian Knowledge System and briefed on the certification course that is to be organized on IKS. Mr Divij Bhavsar, IIT Roorkee Alumnus, an Edupreneur, Software Developer, and Life Coach was the Resource person of the day, who discoursed on the belief attributes and rich heritage of the Indian Knowledge System. The session’s focus was on mastering one’s mind and this was interestingly explained through Audio- visual aids and interesting stories. es. He cited the verse of Geeta by Shri Krishna that an Uncontrolled mind is man’s greatest enemy. The session included the mental health reports data and problems of an unhealthy mind that leads to intoxication, frustration, depression, stress, anxiety and the worst being suicide.
He also deliberated on the four major characteristics of mind- Magnify, Imagine, never settle and Decline: its concepts and solutions. The audience was captivated by the Sciences of Mind- the ideal hierarchy of mind, intelligence and senses; and the GIGO (garbage on and garbage out) principle besides the essence of assimilating and adapting the sutras of Gita. Later, the practical Mantra Meditation was done by all the attendees present inside the hall. The session ended with an explanation regarding the course by Mr Diraj. The event was organized by Dr. VV Bhuvaneswari, Ms Priyadarshini and Dr Shikha under the able guidance of the Principal, LCD.
