“EUREKA Hackathon IIT Bombay” Kicks off at Uttaranchal University. 

The Uttaranchal University Computer Science Club (UUCSC), in collaboration with IIT Bombay, successfully launched the second phase of the EUREKA Hackathon 2024 on 30 September 2024. The event was held to foster innovation, creativity, and teamwork among students from the first and second years of the university. 

 

The inaugural session was graced by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, Uttaranchal Institute Of Technology, Dr Rajesh Singh, Director, Division of Research & Innovation, Dr Anita Gehlot, Head DRI. In their addresses, they highlighted the significance of hackathons in today’s fast-paced technological landscape. They also emphasized how such competitions provide students with invaluable hands-on experience and encourage them to step out of their comfort zones. They also stressed the importance of active participation in these events, urging the students to seize every opportunity to sharpen their skills. “This event is not just about competing but about learning and growing together as a community of future technologists,” said Ms. Roosha Shamoon, Faculty Coordinator. “We’re thrilled to see such a high level of participation and dedication from our students.” 

The EUREKA Hackathon serves as a platform for young innovators to showcase their talent and develop solutions to real-world problems. The second phase of the event showcased the selected five teams from the first phase to further emphasize on their ideas, including a detailed PowerPoint presentation with a prototype and an enhanced business model. 

Finally, the team: Aero Innovators won the title as the winners emerging as the best innovators from the lot with the idea of a smart bottle deploying the idea of finding the dehydration through the usage of various sensors.
