Uttaranchal College of Nursing, Uttaranchal University organized World heart day celebration on 30 September 2024 at community area, Kotra Santour aims to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and promote heart healthy lifestyles within community people. The event focused on the theme ‘USE HEART FOR ACTION’ to encourage people to take proactive steps towards better heart health.
It started with a rally in village area by B Sc Nursing 1st year students under the supervision of Ms Aarti Pundir & Ms Tanuja with slogans to aware community people and engage community participation for health initiatives. The programme proceeded with a Nukkad Natak in Govt. Middle school of village Kotra Santour by B Sc Nursing I year students to highlight key issues related to cardiovascular health such as unhealthy lifestyles, poor dietary pattern, and importance of regular exercise.
CPR procedure was also demonstrated to children and people present at that area which particularly raises awareness about cardiac emergencies thus improving survival rates. This session has educated them about signs of cardiac arrest and the importance of immediate response.
The event successfully promotes awareness of heart health thus highlighting the importance of prevention of heart disease whereas implementation of CPR training plays a crucial role in equipping young students with essential lifesaving skills.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks and the departure of students.
