Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences celebrated Matribhasha Diwas-Talent and Ability Development through Mother Tongue on February 21, 2025, with an engaging and vibrant celebration, showcasing the diversity of languages and cultures within our community. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and promoting linguistic diversity. A group of national and international students delighted the audience with multilingual songs, each representing a unique mother tongue.

These performances were followed by a poetry session, where students recited poems in their native languages, reflecting the rich cultural backgrounds of our diverse student body. Additionally, the event featured a painting exhibition, where students showcased their creativity through paintings inspired by their languages and traditions. To encourage intellectual exploration, an essay-writing competition was also organised, with participants expressing their thoughts on the significance of mother languages in the modern world. All participants showcased their exceptional talents and delivered outstanding performances. Abhinay Tiwari from MPH II semester secured the first position in the poetry competition, Harshita Dumka from BMRIT II semester excelled in painting and Gaurav Rawat from BMLT IV semester emerged as the winner in essay writing competition.

This celebration successfully highlighted the importance of mother languages and fostered unity and understanding among the college’s international and national students. The event was coordinated by faculty members under the guidance of Dr Kartikey, Director UCHS.
