The Industrial Visit-ONGC

On 21 August 2024, B Tech II, III and IV-year students of Civil Engineering Department, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology visited the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Dehradun. The visit gave students a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications in petroleum engineering. The students were introduced to various processes of oil exploration, drilling, and production. They also had the chance to observe cutting-edge technology used in seismic data analysis and reservoir management. 

The interaction with industry experts offered insights into real-world challenges and innovations in the energy sector. The visit not only enhanced the students' understanding of the petroleum industry but also inspired many to pursue careers in this dynamic field. Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT emphasized the importance of such industrial visits in fostering practical learning and professional development. The visit was organized under the supervision of Prof (Dr) S K Shah, Head, B Tech first year. The students were guided and accompanied by Dr Basant Ballabh Dumka and Mr Vinod Balmiki, faculty coordinators.
