The 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay was celebrated with enthusiasm in Uttaranchal University on 26th July 2024. Under the leadership of the President of the University, Shri Jitendra Joshi, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor the officers, teachers, and NCC students of the university gathered at the Shaurya Wall of the university.
First of all, the President of the University paid his homage by offering flowers to the pictures of the martyrs. He said that while the youth from every state of India are ready to sacrifice their all for the country, the youth of Uttarakhand are seen standing in the front row of such youths. Uttaranchal University salutes the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War.
On this occasion, a large number of people gathered to pay tribute along with NCC cadets. The entire atmosphere reverberated with slogans of 'Kargil ke shahid amar rahe'. The Program was organised jointly under the aegis of the Legal Aid Centre of Law College Dehradun and NCC Wing of the University.
On this occasion, Prof Pradeep Suri, Prof Poonam Rawat, Prof Sonal Sharma, Prof M P Singh, Prof Shravan Kumar, Prof Manish Badoni, Prof Amit Bhatt, Mr K B Portrayal, Lt. Nitin Duklan and Saveshwar Prasad along with many teachers and staff were present.
