The NSS Wing of Uttaranchal University organized a seven-day NSS Special Camp in Shivpuri Village from March 12 to 18, 2024. The camp was inaugurated by Shri Jitendra Joshi, Chancellor,  Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, and (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor. The camp's activities aimed to foster community well-being through education and awareness.

Primary school students were educated on good touch and bad touch, while villagers learned about health, sanitation, hygiene, digital literacy, and cyber fraud through door-to-door campaigns and rallies. Supervised by NSS Programme officers Dr V K Srivastava and Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, the event saw about 100 NSS volunteers participate. Notable attendees included Gram Pradhan Mrs Rajni Devi, Mr Mohan Lal, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Mr Gaurav Jain, Dr Kalid Ahmad, Mr Ajay Singh Rawat, and Mr Dheeraj Bisht.
On the second day, a rally promoted cleanliness and hygiene, with volunteers distributing pamphlets and demonstrating composting techniques. The third day, Child Education Day featured makeshift classrooms where volunteers discussed good touch and bad touch, health, sanitation, and hygiene with primary school students through playful activities. 
The fourth day focused on digital awareness and cyber fraud, with volunteers conducting door-to-door campaigns to educate villagers on safe online practices. The fifth day involved a comprehensive cleanliness drive, enhancing the school, temple area, and the village, fostering community pride and cleanliness.
The sixth day emphasized government schemes and social initiatives, with volunteers conducting sessions on socio-economic development programs like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. The final day concluded with a reflective ceremony, celebrating the collaborative efforts and the camp's achievements in community development.
This camp not only raised awareness on various social issues but also empowered villagers with practical knowledge, fostering a sense of community pride and continued commitment to development and cleanliness.
