The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University organized a guest lecture featuring Dr Arvind Kumar Upadhayaya, Regional Head for Northeast India, Asia Pacific, at Palladium, India, on "Waste to Wealth Management: An Approach for Sustainable Development".
The event commenced with Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Dean of the School of Agriculture, felicitating the esteemed guest speaker. Prof Mahipal Singh delivered an introductory speech, setting the stage for the lecture. Dr Upadhayaya's presentation focused on innovative waste management approaches, particularly addressing food waste from hostels. He underscored the significance of understanding zero waste principles, environmental impacts, consumer behaviour, and community engagement in waste reduction efforts.
Dr Upadhayaya delved into strategies for waste minimization, product reuse, and material recycling, while also acknowledging the challenges inherent in transitioning to a zero-waste lifestyle.
