The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University organized a guest lecture featuring Dr Arvind Kumar Upadhayaya, Regional Head for Northeast India, Asia Pacific, at Palladium, India, on "Waste to Wealth Management: An Approach for Sustainable Development". 

The event commenced with Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Dean of the School of Agriculture, felicitating the esteemed guest speaker. Prof Mahipal Singh delivered an introductory speech, setting the stage for the lecture. Dr Upadhayaya's presentation focused on innovative waste management approaches, particularly addressing food waste from hostels. He underscored the significance of understanding zero waste principles, environmental impacts, consumer behaviour, and community engagement in waste reduction efforts. 

Dr Upadhayaya delved into strategies for waste minimization, product reuse, and material recycling, while also acknowledging the challenges inherent in transitioning to a zero-waste lifestyle. He emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and individual responsibility in fostering sustainable practices. 

The guest lecture served as a catalytic platform for students, inspiring them to promote sustainable living and adopt responsible waste management practices. It instilled a sense of collective responsibility and empowerment among attendees, encouraging them to actively contribute to building a waste-free future. 

Dr Neha Saini, the event coordinator, extended heartfelt thanks to Dr. Upadhayaya for his engaging and informative session, which provided valuable insights for both students and faculty members. The lecture concluded with a sense of optimism and determination to embrace sustainable living practices and work towards a more environmentally conscious future.
