As a part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative and commitment of a significant movement towards promoting community welfare, Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Centre (UHDC) along with Uttaranchal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun conducted a Free Health Check-up Camp in Hariyawala Kalan Village, Sahaspur, Dehradun on February 10, 2024. The primary objective of this initiative was to cater to the healthcare needs of the local community while also raising awareness about preventive healthcare preparations. The event emphasized on Uttaranchal University's commitment towards the social responsibility and its broader mission of contributing to sustainable development.

Hariyawala Kalan Village, adopted by the university as part of its commitment to community development witnessed a comprehensive health camp covering various medical specialties. The various experts of the university including Doctors Dr. Sonali (ENT), Dr. Hemlata (PK), Dr. Preeti (MO), Dr. Satvinder Kaur (MO), Dr. Dipanshu Kaushik (EMO), Hospital Admin (Mr. Chandra Mohan), Nursing staffs (Priyanshu Kaushik and Nikita), Lab Assistants (Mr. Amit Pundir), Pharmacists (Mr. Ganesh, Mr. Madhav, & Mr. Neeraj Upadhyay), Pharmacologists (Mr. Ayush Dangwal, Ms. Sonali), Chief Marketing Manager (Mr. Rohit Mathur, Mr. Rajnish Agarwal) have provided their free health consultations and services and distributed free medicines to the patients during the free camp. Over 170 residents from Hariyawala Kalan village participated in the health camp, benefiting from the opportunity to consult with specialists and access essential healthcare services without any charge. The Free Health Check-up camp significantly enhanced the community's overall well-being, in line with the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to promote inclusive and sustainable development in rural regions.

At this camp, students from Law College Dehradun (LCD), Uttaranchal University, delivered a Nukkad Natak to educate local villagers about the dangers of drug abuse. They also performed a motivational play centered around the theme "Say No to Drugs," under the guidance of Mr. Abhiranjan Dixit, Assistant Professor & Coordinator- Pro Bono Club, and Mr. Amit Choudhary, Assistant Professor, LCD.
The entire event was orchestrated under the guidance of Dr. Amit Bhatt, Campus Director at Uttaranchal University, along with Smt. Rajni Devi, Gram Pradhan of Hariyawala Kalan, Mr. Mohanlal Sharma, a Social Worker from Hariyawala Kalan, Ms. Abha Nautiyal and Ms. Rajnish Agarwal, local residents, supported by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, UBA coordinator, Dr. Ravi Joshi KC, Principal of UHDC‎, Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, Dean of UIPS, Mr. Dheeraj Bisht, Public Relation Officer, Dr. Atin Kumar, Assistant Professor (SOA), Mr. Sunil Prakash, Assistant Professor (SOA), administrative staff including Mr. Sanatan, Mr. Sameer, and other faculty members and university officials. This successful endeavor showcases Uttaranchal University's steadfast commitment to social responsibility and its pledge to foster sustainable development in the area.
